Finally framed

Rest at last... the Holland trip is done, and I'm back all safe and sound in good old London. I actually enjoyed it today I must say. Maybe being cooped up fr 4 months working on the Mombi dress made me appreciate going out again LOL.

So I left for Amsterdam on Friday, the flight went ok, the luggage arrived (read: the precious dress arrived) so all was well. I dragged my friends out shopping as the usual Dutch purchases had to be made such as tea and satesaus and the likes and I dont know when I'll be over next. Denise, my very good friend, took me to Action which is this fantabulous discount store and I found these super handy photo frames fr only EUR 1.39 each! So now, after nearly two years, I can finally frame the caricature the bf and I had made while in San Francisco. So check it out!!!


I'll post the blog about the Elf Fantasy Fair soon also and of course a final Mombi post so you can all see the result of the dress :)

Hi all! I've had so many request from friends for these scissor socks that I wanted to share the tutorial with you. I've been sick for a while so this tutorial is well over due. Fabulising February - Men's Shirt Dress

Hi everyone! Fabulising February is nearly over and this is the last project I have managed to complete.Tomorrow I'll post a short recap showing all the finished projects. Wanting to go out with a bang, I tackled a men's shirt that the bf bought online many years ago and forgot to return it so I wanted to make something nice out of it. Seems a waste to be throwing away a brand new shirt! Granted, it was white and while probably cotton it was very thick and stiff material. So I dyed it purple. Of course. Once it was purple, I then had to try and do something with it. Easier said than done! I finally found a cute idea for a dress in blogland (didn't save the link though) and I really wanted to try that. But the instructions were super tricky so in the mending pile it went. This is the shirt. Much too large even for the bf but purple at least ;) And a bit wrinkled for being in the bag for a very long time. But with only a little time left in my Fabulising February

My Neighbor Totoro Project #2: Catbus

Hello again! So last time I showed you how I made Totoro. I ended up making yet another doll / pillow from the same movie for the same friend! I think this was a present for a combination of life events, and I knew she would love this. This time, I made Catbus! (if you don't know what Catbus looks like, please Google it as there are so many references out there! Or better yet: watch the movie, you will love it!) Again, I went shopping for fabric... at least this time I knew what I needed, the wool was just perfect, I just had to find the right colours. Catbus has various shades of brown and a bright yellow. The brown was easy but I couldn't find yellow anywhere... In the end I opted for yellow felt which worked as well. Not the tiny squares of craft felt, no the proper felt on a roll. It seemed stronger, and the colour was perfect. Sadly this time there was no tutorial, but I did find a pillow on ebay that served as inspiration for this project. Ok, I mostly copied it... M
